Early Life

Hungani Ndlovu was born in Mpumalanga and raised in Bushbuckridge, Nelspruit. His journey into the arts began in his youth when he developed a passion for dance.

Career Beginnings

Commencing his career at the age of seven in 2001, Ndlovu initially gained recognition for his dancing prowess. However, his aspirations shifted towards acting, prompting a move to the USA. Here, he pursued an education in HipHop Choreography at Flii’Cademy in Los Angeles, solidifying his skills under renowned choreographer FliiStylz over three years. Ndlovu further honed his craft at the New York Film Academy, earning an Associated Degree in Acting for Film.

Return to South Africa

Upon returning to South Africa, Ndlovu graced various television commercials for esteemed clients such as Virgin Money Insurance, Dettol, and Debonairs Pizza. Simultaneously, he embarked on his acting journey.

Breakthrough in Acting

His acting debut materialized in the 2014 short film “Memoir of an Honest Voice,” nominated for Best Short Film at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2015. In 2016, Ndlovu played pivotal roles in theatre productions like “A Night with Sam” and “A Raisin in the Sun,” directed by James Ngcobo.

Ndlovu’s notable breakthrough occurred in 2016 when he assumed the recurring role of Romeo in the soapie Scandal!, a character he portrayed until his departure in 2022. In subsequent years, he featured in projects like the TV movie “Sipho” (2018), the horror film “The Hex” (2020), and the short film “Ring of Beasts” (2021).

The actor secured his first leading role in serial television as Duma in the SABC1 comedy-drama “uBettina Wethu” (2022). Subsequently, he joined the cast of the SABC1 soapie “Skeem Saam,” portraying the character Tbose from July 3, 2023.

Hungani Ndlovu Philanthropic Initiatives

Beyond his entertainment career, Hungani Ndlovu co-founded the NPO coaching center ‘The Ndlovu Foundation,’ dedicated to empowering youth through dance and drama. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in establishing the art development studio ‘Strong Attitudes Nurture Success Group’ (SANS).
