Marciel Hopkins (born February 17, 1993) is a South African television presenter, actress, and plus-size model. She is best known for contesting in the 2016 Miss South Africa pageant and left the competition among the Top 12 finalists.
Two years after the competition, Marciel returned to her pre-weight after dropping four kg in four months for the competition. She is also a life coach, motivational speaker, and social media influencer.

Early Life
Marciel Hopkins was born on February 17, 1993, to Annaline, her mother and biggest supporter, and her father, Charles Hopkins. Her father is the winemaker on the De Grendel wine farm near Cape Town. She hails from Paarl in the Western Cape.
Education
Hopkins graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a BA in Drama degree. In 2016, she obtained an Honours degree in Psychology.
Career
On April 30, 2013, she played a guest-starring role in one of the episodes of Die Boland Moorde. She appeared as a student in Season one, Episode five of the kykNET crime anthology series.
In 2020, she started to present the Afrikaans dating show Boer Soek ‘n Vrou. The show has helped many farmers across South Africa to find love. She took over from Leah in season 13.
Marciel works as a plus-size model, but before then, in 2015, she stunned by dropping 14 kg in four months for Miss SA.
Miss South Africa
After being a contestant in the South African national beauty pageant in March, she knew that she would have to lose some weight, and she did.
Marciel started training two to three hours daily and doing cardio sessions over the weekends.
After four months of intense workouts, she burned 14kg to be bikini ready for the competition. She made it to the top 12 Miss South Africa finalists.
Personal Life
Television presenter Marciel Hopkins tied the knot with Handré Lourens. The couple engaged at the 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa, Cape Town, in July 2020.
Her lavish bridal shower took place in the Cape Winelands with beautiful views of Table Mountain from the De Grendel Wine Estate and Restaurant in the Plattekloof area. Marciel Hopkins lives in the Western Cape.
